Known for his luminous, atmospheric painting style, he works across genres (portraits, landscapes, and still lifes) with a special reverence for his native St. Petersburg. The city’s streets, canals, and surrounding historic suburbs, Tsarskoe Selo, Pavlovsk, and Gatchina, often serve as subjects in his work, reflecting his deep connection to the region’s architectural and artistic heritage.
Today, Evgeny Malykh continues to create and teach in St. Petersburg, remaining active in the artistic community and dedicated to both classical training and contemporary expression.
